How to dump Switch XCI's from cartridges, extract a Switch game's Romfs and view Switch Game Please make sure your SD card has enough space on IT to fit your dumped...For romfs Method (reccomended): Using GodMode9 or a similar tool, unpack the romfs (ROM filesystem) of the game. The easiest way to do this is to use GodMode9 which will take a couple hours for a full dump. It's not a RAM dump, there's actually a method to extract entire game RomFS archives (which is what's being used currently). An XCI file contains the contents of a Nintendo Switch game card (cartridge dump) in the NX Card Image format. It stores an encrypted backup of a Nintendo Switch game, which includes the Switch game ROM, icons, and metadata. XCI files may also be used to contain updates to a Switch game.
