When applied the trailer pin moves forward in the hitch which you usally dont hear. When you start up again the pin moves back with a clunk which you do hear. But sometimes, when I first start it, it clunks when I shift it in Drive. Not always though. And I shift slowly through reverse into drive, or I simply take my foot right as I put it in Drive, it wont.
