Jul 16, 2013 · Recently, I had a need to create a symbolic link while running a scan on some systems and found that there was not a native way in PowerShell to accomplish this. Now I can use mklink.exe to make this work, but this will only work under cmd.exe. This means that I cannot actually call mklink.exe under PowerShell. You’re previous method would work, but I would highly recommend using a here string and leveraging SQL variables to clean things up. I’ve pasted an example from a previous project below.

Im trying to add an “if not exists… then insert new data row”. the “stuid” column is the unique column. any suggestions appreciated as to what im doing wrong…. ive been googling for days and this is the best point ive gotten too as the best way to update an existing sql database with info that has been received via a csv file.

  • Database mirroring is a solution for increasing the availability of a SQL Server database. Mirroring is implemented on a per-database basis and works only with databases that use the full recovery model. Database mirroring setup is a pretty easy thing. The point here is not really to make a complicated process easier but to standadize the way we can set this up.
